Who Am I?

My name is Kira and I am a sufferer of Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia among other things. I was diagnosed with Chiari and Syringomyelia at the age of 18 in 2004. Since then I have had multiple surgeries and have found no relief. I also discovered that there is not that much information on these conditions and almost nothing for Australians with this condition.

I suffer from Arnold Chiari Malformation (over 25mm), Syringomyelia (c2-t10), Ehlers Danlos Hypermobile type, mixed sleep apneas, chronic pain (controlled by an internal morphine pump), depression, asthma, low IgA, and many other problems and symptoms.

I started this website so that people could find information they need but also find an Australian based community for support. I will add more as I see fit or by suggestions. Right now it’s just my trusted computer tech Jess and me working on this so it might take awhile

There is a more to me then just this condition. I am a university student studying a Bachelor of Science and hoping to complete that soon. I love music and play several instruments. I am a great animal lover and own three cockatiels named Eva, Billy and Rory. I do cross-stitch when I have a spare moment and have a massive DVD collection.

I also am a makeup addict and have my own blog about it at Kira's Makeup Reviews. I also love technology and gadgets especially apple products! I am on the internet heaps and love computers. I am always happy to help out people with questions or talking to them as I remember a time when I couldn;t find help myself.
